In the Interests of the Children
Many divorce lawyers behave like soldiers, fighting for every advantage through a long, drawn-out courtroom battle. But this practice is destructive to any children involved. Trials tear families apart, and I want no part of that.
As an Oakbrook, Illinois, attorney, serving DuPage County, I put the children's interests first. I work hard for quick, equitable settlements that allow divorcing spouses to retain the ability to work together as co-parents after the divorce. My clients don't want a "bulldog" attorney — they want a lawyer who cares about them and their children.
You do not want to get into a war. You want to get on with your life. I can help. Call 630-873-3559 today for a free consultation.
In all my family law practice areas, I emphasize:
- Quick settlements: Rather than fighting a contentious courtroom battle, I try to settle matters behind closed doors before the trial.
- Equitable agreements: Rather than fighting for every advantage possible, I fight for what's best for the children.
- Co-parenting: Rather than tearing each other apart in divorce court, I want my clients to walk away with the ability to work together as co-parents for their children.
My Story
Practicing law is my way of enjoying a second career and realizing my childhood dream of being a lawyer. When I opened my own solo law firm in 2004, I was primed and ready to serve clients in family law, and I thoroughly enjoy what I do.
In have gained many experiences in my life and career that benefit me as an attorney:
- Chemistry: My scientific education and experience have helped to make me a detail-oriented attorney, particularly important in complicated issues such as division of assets, child support and spousal support.
- Psychology: I also have a Master's in Industrial Organizational Psychology, which helps me understand people and their motivations. This is a tremendous benefit in general negotiations regarding divorce and corresponding issues such as paternity, child custody and visitation, adoption, post-decree modifications, and removal.
- Military experience: As a Vietnam-era Army veteran, I have knowledge and experience regarding the division of military pensions and the various provisions regarding military divorce.
